The Long Game

In Waveland, the main antagonist does not reveal himself until page 30, and the protagonist does not even come onto the scene until page 57. I know I am breaking every screenwriting convention, but this is most certainly NOT a conventional story.
Overall, I am still thinking not terms of just one movie, but three.
Also, I am having a nice buildup, something that does not exist in 99% of the movies out there today. There is no tension in films anymore because there is no buildup. In a typical zombie movie, we are introduced to the main characters, and pretty much soon after that, it’s zombie mayhem city, and we have not had time to even give a shit about any of the characters. We don’t care if the zombies spend the rest of the movie eating the main characters in slow motion.
Anyhoo, although I am going to most likely have to cut the prologue, I am still going to keep the pacing of the movie slower than most movies today where you have figured out the plot in the first five min.

Shifting gears

No update to Waveland today, although I did write five pages, I have yet to format them.
I did come up with an idea for a high school comedy idea that I bounced off a writer friend of mine (hopefully partner) The high school comedy will be much easier to implement than Waveland, but in fairness, Waveland is being written as a trilogy, and I have much more freedom for creativity, than in a contemporary comedy.

Staying up till 2 a.m. writing takes a toll on creativity. However, I am now fully rested and ready to roll.
